2005 CROSS COUNTRY OFFICERS' Responsibilities
Secretary: Schedules presentations, meetings and all votes, including issuing reminders to make sure what's supposed to happen really happens when it's supposed to happen. Keeps us on track when we need to vote on a purchase or sale, when an intern comes up for election, or officers need to be selected at the end of the year, etc.
Vice President: Comes up with an agenda for each month, and then updates it after we've had the monthly online meeting. Basically suggests what we are going to discuss and then, afterwards, tells us what we did discuss.
Treasurer: Keeps doing exactly what he's been doing all these years. Excellent!
Members-at-large: The most difficult task of all falls to those who have no elected position this year... Takes full responsibility for 1) your own participation (which means making sure you're up to date with whatever is happening, including being up to speed on presentations, and so on) and 2) shares knowledge, research and progress with the rest of us, helping to guide interns, less experienced members, etc.
Interns: Continues to do what they have been doing all along, asking questions and participating in the discussions. We happen to be blessed with a couple of knowledgeable investers, so it would be highly beneficial to all of us if you guys asked more questions. Can each of you make your own presentation as soon as possible, perhaps in December or January to kick off the New Year?

QUESTIONS FREQUENTLY ASKED
How can I see Cross Country's current holdings?
There is no public portfolio available. Those accepted into our internship program are given copies of the club's past Portfolio Evaluation Review Technique (PERT) worksheets, which lists the number of shares, percent yield, total return, percent of portfolio and other key metrics for each of our holdings.
This information can be found on our discussion site, filed under Files / Pert Worksheets.

PERSONAL OUTLOOK
At a recent on line meeting, one of our members described Cross Country Investment Club and his own personal investment outlook:
We're a very informal group... We generally hold an on-line chat once a month and the remainder of the time most communication is done via e-mail. You'll learn that my typing leaves a lot to be desired. Look for transposed letters and for misspellings usually caused by hitting an adjacent key to the one intended.
Most of us are very conservative investors. In particular, I like to see steady growth, doesn't need to be spectacular, steady suits me more. I like undervalued stocks. I avoid paying more than an average PE and abhor paying more than a PE of 25-30 for a stock. Needless to say, I don't buy IPOs. Favorites are stocks like JNJ and banking stocks (which usually pay a dividend, are often steady performers, and are often very sound investments due to the ever-present arms of state and federal regulators who oversee the safety of the depositor's assets).
